Denver police are investigating a stabbing that happened on East Colfax Avenue early Thursday morning.

A victim described only as a male was taken to a hospital for treatment, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

An argument broke out near East Colfax Avenue and Corona Street around 12:30 a.m., Jackson said.

During the confrontation, a suspect the victim in the torso, he said.

“The victim is still alive,” Jackson said.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been captured, he said.
