An unidentified large predator mauled a bulldog in the backyard of a Lafayette home on Tuesday, Lafayette police are warning residents.
The dog, which weighed between 40 and 50 pounds, was attacked in a backyard on the 100 block of Beacon Hill Drive, according to a police report.
Beacon Hill Drive is near 111th Avenue between Baseline and Arapahoe roads.
Colorado Department of Wildlife rangers are investigating the mauling.
“The dog did not survive the attack,” the report says.
Lafayette police are asking anyone who spots large wildlife predators to call the wildlife department or Lafayette police.
