A Louisiana man suspected in a Loveland bank robbery and arrested last month in Texas after a bank robbery there has been tied to a series of bank robberies across the West.
Charles L. Wood, 49, is a suspect in the Aug. 11 robbery of the Great Western Bank at 3800 E. 15th St. in Loveland.
A month later, on Sept. 14, police officers in Sugar Land, Texas, arrested Wood after a robbery of the Compass BBVA Bank.
Since then, detectives in Kansas, Arkansas and Utah have linked the alleged prolific bank robber to recent robberies in those states, according to a news release Thursday by the Loveland Police Department.
Oklahoma authorities are also investigating whether Wood robbed a bank in that state as well, the news release says.
In the Loveland bank robbery, the suspect entered the bank, displayed a firearm and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect left the bank in a black, four-door, newer-model Ford pickup truck. The vehicle may have had Arkansas plates, police reported at the time.
