The Denver VA Medical Center is looking to hire about 30 medical support assistants — and fast.
The federal agency will hosting a job fair 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19-21 at the Veterans Services Center, 1247 Santa Fe Drive in Denver. The fair is focused on expediting hiring of people who will schedule appointments, check in veterans for their appointments and many other front-line duties.
Participants in the fair need should come dressed to interview and have with them three copies of their resume and three copies of their academic transcripts.
The jobs offer competitive wages, flexible scheduling, access to professional development programs, paid vacation and sick leave, as well as 10 paid federal holidays, the VA said in a news release. The package offers health and life insurance as well as access to the federal retirement system.
Clients of Denver’s Veterans Affairs hospital and its satellite clinics have than those at more than 90 percent of regional centers, federal data showed in February. About 13.7 percent of veterans seeking appointments in Denver and eastern Colorado clinics waited for a month or more after their preferred date to see a doctor.
