The Colorado Wind Ensemble returns for the season with a new personality on the podium, David Kish, a conductor with a distinguished résumé that includes teaching at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Kish will lead the players through their paces in Littleton and Denver in a program that starts with Leonard Bernstein’s well-known overture to “Candide” then wanders into more adventurous territory, with works of varying familiarity, such as John Mackey’s “Sheltering Sky,” Wayne Oquin’s “Tower Ascending” and John C. Heed’s “In Storm and Sunshine.” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S.
