Two Colorado residents are in custody after leading law enforcement in two states in separate pursuits in a stolen BMW on Friday morning, officials said.
Lantz Ream-Dickerson, 19, of Denver and 19-year-old Stephanie Millsaps of Denver were taken into custody for leading law enforcement on a high speed chase to Laramie.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office notified the Wyoming Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for a stolen, blue 2013 BMW 328i that officers had been pursuing earlier, according to a Friday Facebook post by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Technology inside the car allowed BMW representatives to track the car’s location as it sped from Colorado toward Wyoming.
Wyoming patrol located the vehicle seven miles south of Laramie on U.S. 287 around 8:30 a.m., officers said.
The driver of the BMW reached speeds around 135 mph, leading officers on a chase toward Laramie, the release said.
A deputy successfully deployed stop sticks on the left front tire, causing the tire to go flat and separate. The driver continued east on Interstate 80 for four miles on three functional tires, pushing speeds of 110 miles per hour.
Eventually, the BMW driver exited off of I-80 just east of Laramie and stopped on the off ramp where officers took the two occupants of the vehicle into custody.
Ream-Dickerson was charged with possession of stolen property, eluding law enforcement, reckless driving and speeding as well as being held on a Colorado warrant for flight.
Charges for Millsaps are pending as the investigation is still ongoing.
