Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Lately, there’s been enough smoke from camp to make your eyes water.
Most recently, reported a snippet of a new Adele song had likely been teased on commercial for “X Factor,” our first taste of new material in the four years since her last album, “21.” Since releasing “21,” the British songstress has won several Grammys and an Oscar for her song featured on the recent James Bond flick, “Skyfall.”
Now, Adele has released a progress report on her detailing fans on her forthcoming album, “25.” True to the album’s title, Adele’s note reads like a diary page written from the tail-end of a quarter-life crisis:
I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done. Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties. Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I’m going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won’t come back. When I was in it I wanted out! So typical.
Fans looking for another breakup album should look elsewhere. Adele goes on to say that “25” is instead a self-affirming “make-up” album.
Contributors on the new album include Colorado’s , Mark Ronson, Danger Mouse, Max Martin and more. “Rumour has it” that “25” is scheduled to drop November 20 via Sony.
