Clay Verk, a 6-foot-8 senior at ThunderRidge in Highlands Ranch, has committed to play basketball at Stetson University, according to his club team, the Colorado Chaos.
He is Stetson’s first recruit of the 2016 class.
Verk averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds a season ago as the Grizzlies (24-4) made it to the Class 5A state championship game. They lost to Overland.
ThunderRidge again is expected to be in the big-school mix for a state title.
