Mesa County authorities say they arrested two Denver men on Tuesday after deputies found 40 pounds of methamphetamine — with an estimated street value of $1.8 million — in their vehicle.
Daniel Galindo-Gonzalez, 31, and Carlos Coronel-Quintana, 33, are suspected of possession of drugs with intent to distribute and special circumstances of importing a schedule I or II drug.
Authorities say the men were stopped heading eastbound on Interstate 70 near the Utah border for allegedly weaving.
“Investigators located a hidden compartment in the rear of the vehicle, which held 40 vacuum sealed one-pound packages of methamphetamine,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
