A student was removed from a southern Colorado high school Tuesday morning after officials discovered the pupil was in a classroom with a weapon.
Administrators at Fountain-Fort Carson High School received a tip about the student having the unspecified weapon before it was discovered.
Officers found a 9mm gun inside the student’s backpack, Fountain police chief Chris Heberer .
“All students are safe and school is proceeding as normal,” the school said in a letter to parents.
