GREELEY — It took a couple of tries, but the city of Greeley created a 3.55-mile string of chalk art, earning a Guinness World Record.
Guinness formally announced Greeley’s win early this week. The city beat out the former record-holder — Jena, Germany — by 400 feet.
During September’s Chalk-a-lot event, thousands of people turned out to two University of Northern Colorado parking lots to volunteer or show off their chalk-drawing skills.
The mural wound like a snake through the parking lots, connected by a short stint that crossed the intersection at 11th Avenue and 22nd Street.
