Interview with Cailin Clements, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I have always loved consignment, but styling women and making them feel great is my specialty. I needed flexibility because I’m a single working mom but I love retail and anything customer-focused. I am crazy for little quaint shopping areas and I’m a huge supporter of small, locally owned businesses. When I was down in Littleton with a friend, I saw the “For Rent” sign and decided to go for it. I opened the store May 5 and have loved every minute.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We offer styling to our clients. We don’t want you to just buy a brand-name item at an amazing price, we want to help you feel amazing by completely outfitting you. We can give you ideas on how to pull outfits together with items you already have in your closet and with new items from the store. It’s a head-to-toe girlfriend shopping experience. We want you to feel like your best. We carry everything you need to complete an outfit in a fun, stylish, relaxed but empowering atmosphere. We can outfit women in style-savvy fashions for the price of full retail items.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Helping women fell great about who they are and how they look. Empowering women.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The biggest challenge is getting people to know where we are and understand that we aren’t just your regular consignment shop. We are a styling boutique.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: I was a stay-at-home mom until three years ago when I went back to work in the retail industry. I have a post-graduate degree in developmental disabilities and I’m Canadian. My business has only been open for seven months, but it’s been in my heart my whole life. I hope to be able to offer my shop and styling experience to more small neighborhoods in Denver.
