An incident at a popular delicatessen in southeast Denver Friday night resulted in minor injuries to police officers as well as a man who was arrested.
Police were called at about 6 p.m to the New York Deli News, 7105 E. Hampden Ave., on a report of a disturbance, said Raquel Lopez, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.
When officers arrived they found an unruly man who was reportedly drunk, Lopez said.
The situation escalated and the initial responding officers called for additional help when the man, who refused to be compliant, became combative.
More than one officer suffered minor injuries in the incident, as did the suspect, Lopez said.
The man was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
