Saturday. Oats aren’t exactly the most showstopping ingredient around, but this weekend Lafayette shows how to build a community event around them with the 20th annual Lafayette Quaker Oatmeal Festival. The fest is, unsurprisingly, shot through health themes, including the Step Up to Wellness health fair and the Quicker Quaker 5K Walk/Run. A free shuttle runs from Flatirons Community Church to Pioneer Elementary, where the fest kicks off Jan. 9 with 200 gallons of oatmeal, 4,000 oatmaeal pancakes and 1,200 muffins. Adults $8, kids 3-12 and seniors $6, kids under 2 are free. Call 303-666-9555 or visit .
