Inside linebackers Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan were selected by their teammates as the Broncos’ 2015 Ed Block Courage Award winners for their “commitment to sportsmanship and courage.”
The two overcame significant injuries that required surgery to return as the team’s No. 1 and No. 2 leading tacklers.
Marshall had two screws placed in his right foot after a Lisfranc injury. He finished with 101 total tackles (76 solo) to go along with 1.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Marshall was earlier named the Broncos’ , as voted by the Denver chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
Trevathan, who because of three left leg injuries, underwent reconstructive knee surgery. He returned this season to record a team-high 110 tackles (74 solo), plus two interceptions, three tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and six pass breakups.
