Pivotal acquires Slice of Lime design firm.
The Silicon Valley software developers credited with helping succeed continues to expand in Colorado, this time by buying a Boulder company.
Pivotal Labs, based in Palo Alto, announced Tuesday it has acquired Slice of Lime, an 18-person digital design firm specializing in user experience. Terms were not disclosed.
Lime’s employees will relocate to Pivotal’s offices in Boulder and Denver, where Pivotal employs about 125 people.
“The combination is a natural one,” said Kevin Menzie, Lime’s founder announcing the union. “…I’ve known a number of Pivots for a long time, and have seen first-hand how well our values align. We share an iterative approach, a focus on collaboration, and we require empathy for users—all things that embody the way we think about designing products and working with clients.”
Pivotal is known for helping some of the biggest tech companies tweak the look of their sites, apps and other tools used by consumers. It’s credited with .
And Slice of Lime is no slouch. The company won UX Magazine’s “” and ranked 31 in . It has also worked on for Mapquest androbot toy maker Sphero.
