
Denver police on Wednesday took a woman into custody after reports came in of a woman with a gun.
Officers responded to a call about a disturbance in the 1500 block of North Lowell Boulevard at about 8:50 a.m., according to Raquel Lopez, police spokeswoman.
Police tweeted they were searching for woman with long purple hair who might be armed. Officers took a woman into custody about 11:30 a.m.
Two public schools, Cheltenham and Lake International Middle School, were placed on lockout during the search. The lockout was lifted at 11:15 a.m.
A witness who did not want to give his full name said a man came to his house asking to be let in, saying his daughter was trying to kill him.
The witness knew the man: It was his former landlord.
The landlord asked the withness to call police.
A second woman was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Lopez said.
The witness said the hospitalized woman was his former landlord’s girlfriend.
