Spotlight on Joe Johnson:

The last time the Nuggets saw Joe Johnson, he was in a Brooklyn uniform knocking down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift the Nets to a win over Denver in February. He was waived a couple of weeks later and landed in Miami, where he has found ample playing time for a team among the top four in the Eastern Conference. And he’s playing well. In eight games with the Heat, Johnson is averaging 15.5 points on 56.8 percent shooting from the field and a scorching 62 percent from 3-point range.

NOTEBOOK

Nuggets:

Denver signed rookie forward Axel Toupane to another 10-day contract Saturday after his first 10 days went well. Saturday’s game against Washington was the last day of his first 10-day contract. During his time with Denver, Toupane has excelled defensively and been opportunistic offensively, knocking down shots when he has the ball in a position to shoot. He was a big reason the Nuggets finished their seven-game homestand 5-2. … The Nuggets, who have lost their last two games to the Heat, are 3-3 in their last six road games.

Heat:

Miami guard Dwyane Wade is questionable with a bruised left thigh. The veteran did not play in the Heat’s most recent game, at Toronto. … Miami has already beaten the Nuggets once this season, and a win Monday would give it a sweep of the season series for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Miami has won four of the last five games against the Nuggets in South Florida.
