A highly intoxicated man was arrested on trespassing charges in Summit County after he repeatedly attempted to enter the wrong home.

The home he tried to enter happened to belong to Summit County Sheriff John Minor.

Graham Robert Goodwin, 24, was arrested after he repeatedly rang Minor’s door bell at 4:10 a.m. Friday, according to a news release Monday from the sheriff’s office. Deputies were on their way to the home in Summit Cove when they learned that it belonged to their boss.

Goodwin tried several times to enter the sheriff’s home even after Minor explained that Goodwin had knocked on the wrong door.

At one point, Goodwin jumped the back fence of Minor’s house, according to the sheriff’s office. Goodwin entered the home and lunged at Minor, trying to grab him, the news release says.

Minor grabbed Goodwin, pushed him up against his house and punched him. The sheriff took Goodwin to the ground and placed him in handcuffs.

Goodwin was booked for investigation of second-degree criminal trespass.
