A woman was arrested in Eagle County on suspicion of defrauding Medicaid out of nearly $60,000, officials said Tuesday.
Blanca Lorena Serna Velasco, 31, of Gypsum is accused of allegedly misrepresenting her household composition and income to make herself eligible for Medicaid benefits from February 2007 through October 2016, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office news release.
As of March 8, 2016, payments to Velasco were found to be as much as $59,542.92.
Velasco was booked into the Eagle County Detention Facility on three counts of theft.
