COLORADO SPRINGS — Five seventh-grade students at Holmes Middle School in Colorado Springs were caught drinking alcohol during lunch period Thursday.
School administrators are investigating, said Colorado Springs School District 11 spokeswoman Devra Ashby.
A female student reportedly brought a bottle and shared it with other students at lunch. Because the matter is a student discipline issue, Ashby said she could not comment on the specifics of the incident.
But “board policy as well as federal and state laws prohibit the use and distribution of alcohol on all district property,” she said
