A 36-year-old man suspected of driving a pickup truck into a Colorado Springs house last week has been arrested in Illinois, police said Monday.

Tyler L. Blackard was taken into custody in St. Clair County, Ill., just east of St. Louis, according to Lt. Catherine Buckley, spokeswoman for the Colorado Spring Police Department.

Authorities say Blackard drove a full-size pickup truck into a house in the 600 block of South Hancock Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, seriously injuring a resident.

Police say Blackard then took off running after the crash.

A photo from the scene showed the truck almost completely inside the small, one-story home.
