WPX Energy said Friday it completed the sale of its subsidiary WPX Energy Rocky Mountain to Terra Energy Partners.
Approximately 207 WPX workers are still in Parachute and are interviewing for new jobs with the Houston-based Terra. A WPX official said it was not known how many Terra will hire.
Known as the Piceance Basin subsidiary, 4,700 natural gas wells for $910 million. This will help Tulsa, Okla.-based WPX focus on the Permian Basin, which is mostly in Texas.
While WPX will continue to employ some back-office support staff, WPX will exit Parachute on June 30. Employees hired by Terra will be WPX employees until the end of June.
