Everyone has a tattoo these days, even if they won’t show it to you. And tattoo artists get the credit (or the blame) for that. What they don’t get is the respect they deserve for the way they influence contemporary art. Abend Gallery addresses that problem with its show, “Nexus,” making connections between artists who work on canvas and their peers who work in skin.
