1 Neighbor reports spy holes in ceiling. Golden police went to an apartment April 3 in the area of Golden Circle, Golden, on a report that the resident’s upstairs neighbor was spying on her. The resident reported hearing her neighbor drill through his floor and had sheets and towels hanging from the ceiling to cover the holes. The officer did not find holes in the ceiling nor any in the floor of the apartment above to substantiate the claims.

2 Cigs stolen. An employee of Loaf and Jug, 1277 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, reported April 3 that a man came in and requested two cartons of cigarettes. He paid with a credit card, which the employee ran and handed back to him. The man promptly took the card and the cartons and left. The credit card was declined, but by then the suspect was gone.

3 Teen’s cigarette ash starts grass fire. On April 9, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the site of a grass fire in the 8000 block of South Turkey Creek Road, Morrison. A teenager on scene said he was lying on the hillside listening to music and smoking a cigarette when he realized the grass around him was on fire. The property owner then came and the two extinguished the small fire, which the teen suspected was started by cigarette ashes. Deputies spoke to his mother.

4 Car theft suspect evades police. Officers on patrol April 3 near Diamond Shamrock, 17691 W. Colfax Ave., identified a vehicle with invalid temporary tags as stolen. The suspect with the vehicle walked away, then ran as officers approached. They employed the K-9 unit but were unable to locate the suspect.
