The date of singer-songwriter Denver concert was not accidental.
When Musgraves was first announced less than three weeks earlier, it was with a wink and a nod. She first announced the Denver show at 4:20 p.m. April 1, and promoter AEG Live billed the concert as a special 4/20 performance.
Get it? Of course you do. And Musgraves knew you would.
Now that 4/20 is here, so is Musgraves. She said as much in her latest tweet — Happy 4/20, y all! — which also thanks her country mentor Willie Nelson for the tour of the marijuana cultivation facility. Check out Musgraves video:

Even though Nelson has been talking about his cannabis brand Willie s Reserve for more than a year, we re not aware of him having plants in the ground just yet. So we re not sure what grow Musgraves was touring.

Since we re students of social media, we also noticed that Musgraves stopped by on 4/20 — thanks to Mindful CEO Meg Sanders, who posted a photo of she and Musgraves on her Facebook page.
She was really gracious, said Erik Williams, Mindful s director of government and public affairs. She seemed to enjoy her time here.
Williams added that the cultivation Musgraves filmed in wasn t Mindful s.
And since we re also students of good music — Musgraves included — we re well aware that the artist s penchant for cannabis is anything but new. Many of her songs include shout-outs, both subtle and blatant, to the famous weed. A of Musgraves in The Hollywood Reporter was slugged Meet Kacey Musgraves: The Weed-Smoking, Ball-Busting, Girl-Kissing Country Singer. She even released her own on Spotify this week.
Fittingly, the playlist start with her own High Time.
As for Musgraves show at the Bluebird tonight, it s been sold out for weeks.
