Sporadic rain and thunder is expected in the Denver metro area on Monday, forecasters say.
There is a slight chance of rain before 9 a.m. in the morning and a slight chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
“It’s the thunderstorm season so its pretty hit and miss,” said Kyle Fredin, NWS meteorologist.
The high temperature is expected to reach about 67 degrees on Monday, with wind gusts up to 20 mph.
In the mountains, snow is possible above 9,000 feet of elevation, mostly on the western-facing slopes, Fredin said.
There’s a better chance for rain and thundershowers — 50 percent — on Tuesday, he said. The high temperature will be about 63 degrees.
It should be mostly sunny with a high around 61 degrees on Wednesday.
It gets warmer on the second half of the week with temperatures rising to 70 and 73 on Thursday and Friday respectively.
There is another slight chance of rain and thunder on Saturday and Sunday, when the high will reach about 69 and 62 respectively.
