Performance art, food, carnival games and a smorgasbord of musical acts all come together this Memorial Day weekend at the Old South Gaylord Boardwalk Beach Bash. The festival, which begins Saturday afternoon, features live music through Saturday night.

The family-friendly event continues from all day Sunday and to the afternoon on Monday.

Located on the 100 block of South Gaylord Street, the festival takes place on Denver’s second-oldest shopping district . If you’re looking for a taste of Denver, the Bash won’t disappoint: in addition to Gaylord restaurants serving food curbside, you can check out the clothing, jewelry and art galleries the street has to offer.

Saturday’s schedule includes the Johnny O. Band bringing you its blues-funk-jam combination from 3:30 to 9:45 p.m., folk/country band Coral Creek playing from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. and Judge Roughneck wrapping things up with ska and reggae flavor from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m.

Sunday’s festivities run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with local “famil-indie band”  Yo’ Mamas & Papas performing from 12 to 2 p.m. and piano-based folk rock band Alright Alright from 4 to 6 p.m. Bluegrass group Masontown and Bill McKay and Tari Peter will split the stage from noon to 4 p.m. Monday.

Carnival attractions and performance artists take the spotlight on Sunday, with carnival games, kids’ zones, balloon art and face painting at the ready to cap off the event through Monday.
