Arrow Electronics jumped 12 spots to on this year’s Fortune 500 list. That put the Centennial-based electronics distributor and tech-service firm way ahead of nine other Colorado firms that made the annual list.

This year’s list, which is based on revenues of the nation’s publicly traded companies, also included (No. 187) in Douglas County, (No. 200) in Denver, (No. 284) in Douglas County, (No. 333) in Broomfield, (No. 341) in Broomfield, (No. 349) in Greenwood Village, (No. 468) in Douglas County, (No. 469) in Greenwood Village and (No. 478) in Douglas County.
It was the first year for Envision to make the list. Most of the other local firms also moved up the list, with Level 3 seeing the largest gain, jumping 68 spots from last year’s No. 401.
However, Ball Corp. dropped from being No. 332 last year. Western Union stayed at the same spot.

Arrow, which employs 18,500 people worldwide, was the as well. For this count, Arrow reported a 2.3 percent rise in revenues to $23.3 billion, but a slight drop of 0.1 percent in profits to $498 million. In the past year, Arrow has reached further into the startup community to work with companies building the next internet of things devices. It’s currently to guide device makers on prototyping and developing products.
Others are expected to grow. Newmont Mining, which Fortune has down at 15,601 employees, recently and adding hundreds more people.
