The University of Colorado A-Line train crosses Holly Street along Smith Road on its way the airport on May 10, 2016.

The A-Line light rail is back on schedule after experiencing a “mechanical failure,” which caused delays of about 10-15 minutes for passengers.

Nate Currey, a spokesman for RTD, said one of the northbound trains experienced a mechanical failure at the Peoria station, forcing passengers to wait for the next train which caused the 10-15 minute delay.

There was an indication of a “brake issue” on the northbound train, and regulation requires trains be pulled from service when there are any potential safety risks, according to Currey.

After returning to Union Station and having been checked by mechanics, it was found there was no issue, and the train was returned to service.
