One of the Nuggets’ three first-round picks is locked up.

Denver signed the No. 19 pick, Malik Beasley, to his rookie contract on Tuesday, league sources told the Denver Post.

Beasley, 19, spent one season at Florida State University and will join the Nuggets backcourt as a shooting guard.

A hard-worker who was ready to , Beasley is with the Nuggets in Las Vegas at NBA Summer League but is not playing after undergoing surgery for a stress fracture. Beasley is expected to be ready for fall training camp.

According to the NBA rookie contract scale, Beasley will earn $2.77 million over his first two seasons. Denver will hold options on years three and four.

Jamal Murray, the Nuggets No. 7 pick, is expected to sign his rookie-scale contract soon. The Canadian guard is in Las Vegas playing for the Summer Nuggets.
