The city of Lakewood has closed Wadsworth Boulevard at West 26th Avenue for all southbound traffic because of a main break, according to police.
It’s unclear how long the major traffic roadway will be closed, Lakewood police spokesman Ty Countryman said in a news release.
The water main burst on the 2300 block of Wadsworth, Countryman said.
Consolidated Mutual water company has been called in to determine the size of the break, he said.
Commuters are urged to take an alternate route and avoid the area Tuesday morning.
