Several communities around Denver announced Tuesday they are lifting fire restrictions due to recent moisture, including Golden, Castle Rock and Douglas County.

By contrast, Larimer County decided to extend its restrictions on open fires, welding, smoking in open space and fireworks until Sept. 15 due to hot, dry conditions and the potential for wildfire.

The Golden Fire Department on Tuesday lifted its Stage 1 fire restrictions within city limits, due to what it said were changing weather patterns. The city put the restrictions, which placed limits on outdoor burning and fireworks usage, into effect July 11.

Douglas County and Castle Rock made similar announcements later in the day. All three communities urged people to behave responsibly when using fire.
