A 54-year-old man was found fatally shot Sunday night in the Western Slope town of Palisade, authorities say, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Gerald Wohlge, spokesman for the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, says deputies were called out to a home at 3644 G 7/10 Road just before midnight where they found the man.
“It is being investigated as a homicide,” Wohlge said Monday afternoon. “It is a pretty large investigation for us, so we have a substantial amount of people on scene.”
Wohlge said he had no suspect information to release. Further details in the case could be made public in the coming days.
“They are interviewing several people,” Wohlge said. “They are pursuing a lot of different people in the neighborhood.”
The slain man’s name has not been released.
