Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib did not attend Wednesday’s practice because of continued back pain. Talib was a late scratch for the Broncos’ win over the Chargers after the injury flared up Saturday.
Cornerback Kayvon Webster also did not practice because of a hamstring injury he sustained in Sunday’s game. Fellow defensive backs Chris Harris, T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart were afforded rest days and only observed the workout. And center Matt Paradis, who did not practice at all last week but started and played every snap against the Chargers, also observed and was on the injury report with hip soreness.
Linebacker Brandon Marshall (hamstring) and running back Devontae Booker (shoulder) were limited. Marshall was inactive for Sunday’s game and Booker was injured on the first series but played through the pain. Coach Gary Kubiak remains hopeful Talib and Marshall will be available to play Sunday but “will take it day by day” with both.
Phillips returns. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was back at practice after getting run over on the sideline by Chargers running back Melvin Gordon in Sunday’s game. Phillips was taken to the hospital immediately after the collision but was released later that evening. Wednesday, Phillips tweeted that he fractured a rib.
Thanks for all the kind words-I was lucky only fractured 1 rib(have 23 more good ones)
