Re: Nov. 10 letter to the editor.
A reader castigated the media for bias in election coverage, claiming it was biased against Donald Trump. I beg to differ. The media was biased against Hillary Clinton. In their attempts to balance their reporting, The Denver Post and local TV stations searched for stories on both. While Trump was being written up for claims of sexual assault, fraudulent charity and not paying taxes, the media felt compelled to always include something about Clinton. Hence, stories such as “Clinton staff disagreed on issues” (in e-mails) were published. FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress received coverage even though he had no proof and subsequently retracted his comments. Such things only became worthy of mention because the media was striving so hard to show balance. Had they said nothing about Clinton, they would have been accused of bias. In fact, they worked so hard at opposing stories that it diminished the import of Trump’s frequent transgressions.
