Interview with Shankar Ramakrishnan, president and owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I got involved after a personal experience with cryotherapy and other new alternate therapies. I felt there was a void in terms of alternate therapies. The public is not aware of medicine-free solutions that can help with pain management, healing, conditioning, rehab and much more. I see so many people take steroids and powerful painkillers to overcome pain. A three-minute session of cryotherapy is way better than medicine to aid in pain.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
:We are the only facility in all of Colorado to offer alternate therapies from cryo, light, brain, compression and anti-gravity therapy all in one place. It is all based from science and helps with faster recovery. Our facility is a one-stop-shop for alternate recovery needs.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
:I enjoy changing people’s lives through modern alternate solutions. The other day a client came in with chronic pain due to arthritis. She said she is in pain all the time. As soon as she did a session of cryotherapy her pain level went down. The next day she woke with less pain than ever. She was so excited and grateful. Stories like this make our day and make it worth coming to work every day.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
:Our biggest challenges are getting the word out about us and bringing new customers, and changing public perception of alternate therapies.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
:Exposing the body to -240 degrees Fahrenheit doesn’t freeze you and is not painful. The trick is exposing the body to dry cold air. Also, red and near infrared light promotes healing.
