Family ritual. After returning to her home in the 2500 block of West 99th Place, Federal Heights, on Nov. 18, a woman noticed that someone broke into her house through her bedroom window and stole all of her jewelry from her dresser. She told police it was her son, who has robbed her in the same way before.
Art tools. A student at STEM Launch, 1201 W. Thornton Parkway, Thornton, was cited for lunging at another student with a box cutter that she was using for an art project Dec. 13. The suspect said she was just playing around, but the other student said she was scared.
Bar fight. Thornton police were called to Castaway’s Bar, 451 W. 84th Ave., on Dec. 11 because a group of six or seven people were fighting each other in the parking lot after getting into an argument inside the bar. Three people were taken to the hospital and many were cited for disorderly conduct.
Big Broncos bag. A man went into King Soopers, 1575 W. 84th Ave., Federal Heights, with a large Broncos-themed tote bag and started filling it up with groceries Nov. 18. Once it was full, he took off running out the front door, making off with about $80 in food items.
Don’t answer the door. On Nov. 19, someone was pounding on a man’s front door in the 2700 block of West 103rd Avenue, Federal Heights, but the homeowner didn’t answer. A few minutes later, someone threw a rock through the man’s bedroom window and then took off. There are no suspects.
Cat bite. On Dec. 13, police investigated a claim by a woman who lives in the 13000 block of Harrison Drive, Thornton, that a cat that she just adopted bit her twice. The cat was returned to the shelter and placed on quarantine.
