Whether you’re one of the estimated 40,000 people joining the Saturday or if you’re hiding under a rock to avoid political talk, Denver’s weather should be fairly accommodating.
Saturday’s high should be in the low 40s with partly cloudy skies. National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina didn’t expect any precipitation during the day. There’s a 10 percent chance of snow Saturday night, with lows forecast in the mid 20s.
The weekend should end on a sunny note Sunday with temperatures similar to the day before.
Skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers and other adventurers heading to the mountains Saturday should expect a chance of snow on the morning drive up. The mountains could get up to 3 inches by 5 p.m., Kalina said. Highs should range from 18 to 28 degrees.
The snow should continue into the evening with lows around 7-15 degrees. It is expected to be breezy with winds around 10-15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Speeds should escalate after midnight to 20-25 mph winds and 35 mph gusts.
Drivers heading down from the mountains Sunday have a chance of snow again, but flakes shouldn’t accumulate, Kalina said. The temperatures should be similar to Saturday.
