Dense fog at Denver International Airport on Tuesday morning was clearing out about 10:30 a.m., but not before prompting a ground stop that impacted departing flights.
Airplanes were still coming and going from the hub during the stop, but were being delayed because of the weather.
Fog is clearing and the FAA is resuming normal operations.

Daria Serna, an airport spokeswoman, said some planes are being held at their origin or diverted because of the conditions. The airport is encouraging passengers to check with their airlines about their flight’s status as the hub resumes normal operations.
“What happens in a low visibility situation is the FAA has slowed down traffic that is coming into the airport,” Serna said. “Basically, it’s a traffic management program.”
Serna said the fog was starting to lift about 10 a.m. No significant departure delays were being reported.
