Lakewood police have identified the 50-year-old man arrested Tuesday afternoon .

Timothy Bruce Swisshelm, of Arvada, was booked into the Jefferson County jail on suspicion of endangering public transportation and disorderly conduct.

“There are potentially other charges he may face,” said Steve Davis, a Lakewood police spokesman.

No one was hurt in the incident, which ended after a roughly hour-long standoff. Police say Swisshelm had an airsoft-type weapon.

Scott Reed, an RTD spokesman, said the bus was on West Colfax Avenue near Oak Street when the situation unfolded at about noon.

Police say the driver called 911 to report a man — Swisshelm — had a handgun and was attempting to fire it. The bus was evacuated and a standoff ensued.

“He may have been intoxicated and possibly had some mental heath issues along with that,” Davis said.
