A motorcyclist died Saturday morning when he hit a pickup truck that ran a stop sign at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Place.

The Denver Police Department responded to a report of the crash at 8:18 a.m. The motorcyclist was taken the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was cited with careless driving resulting in death and disobedience of a stop sign, according to the police.

The intersection was closed for about two-and-a-half hours Saturday morning.
