El Paso County authorities are searching for an 18-year-old man as a person of interest in the slaying earlier this month of on the side of a rural road.
Diego Carlos Chacon, also known as Casper, “is (being) sought for questioning,” the county sheriff’s office said Tuesday night, but investigators did not elaborate on his suspected connection to the case.

Gustavo Marquez, 19, was arrested Sunday night in the slayings. He is accused of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and child abuse resulting in death.

The bodies of , were spotted March 12 by a passer-by driving near Fountain on Old Pueblo Road, just south of Hanover Road.

Colorado Springs School District 11 spokeswoman Devra Ashby said Derek was a freshman while Natalie was a sophomore.
Officials have not said how the pair were killed, pending final autopsy results.
“A part of me is gone — part of my heart, part of my soul,” Derek’s mother, Heather Ferguson, . “Every morning, it’s just a new wave of, ‘This is reality.’ My life is without him, and I don’t know how to live that life.”
Ferguson told the newspaper this week that while Marquez’s arrest gives her family “a sense of peace,” they “still have so many questions.”
Marquez was arrested before the killings on Feb. 24 in a separate felony kidnapping, assault and domestic violence case out of Fountain, according to state arrest records.
Arrest documents in the teens’ slayings have been sealed and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has declined to release details in the case, including a suspected motive and if there were any connections between the victims and suspect.
