An Aurora man has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison to meet a 13-year-old girl he had been enticing for sex.

Nathaniel Smith, 30, pleaded guilty in December to one count of enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut says. He was also ordered at a Friday sentencing to serve 15 years on supervised release upon being freed from prison.

According to court documents and statements made in court, prosecutors say in January 2016 Smith used his cell phone and internet-based messaging and video-chat services — including Kik and Skype —  to entice the girl. He was arrested on Jan. 25, 2016, in New London, Conn.

Investigators said Connecticut state police found Smith with the girl at a Holiday Inn. The teen had been reported missing, authorities said.

Smith has been detained since his arrest.
