A 33-year-old Colorado Springs man was arrested over the weekend after investigators say he used his Nissan to repeatedly ram a Jeep, ejecting a passenger in that vehicle, during a road-rage incident.
William Rhea is accused of two counts of attempted first-degree murder in the early Saturday encounter in the Security-Widefield area.
The Colorado State Patrol says Rhea was driving southbound on Main Street from Leta Drive just after midnight when he intentionally collided with a red Jeep several times.
“The road rage continued to Main Street and Holly Drive where both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lane of Main,” the State Patrol said in a crash bulletin. “During the collision the right front passenger of the Jeep was ejected out. Both the driver and passenger of the Jeep (suffered) injuries.”
Investigators did not say what prompted the suspected road rage.
