Thornton woman sentenced to federal prison in bank fraud case

Sentence includes $17,247 in restitution, 64 months in prison

A Thornton woman has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

Randi Nicole Gunderson, 30, was sentenced Friday in Cheyenne by Chief Federal District Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal, according to a news release from Wyoming’s acting U.S. attorney.

Gunderson was sentenced to 64 months in prison and four years of supervised release. She was ordered to pay $17,247 restitution and a $200 special assessment.

Gunderson, who was arrested in Cheyenne, also was convicted of aggravated identity theft. The case was investigated by the Postal Inspection Service.
