A softball coach in Adams County has been charged with felony sexual assault of a child.

Jason Lee Davis, 43, is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl who played on his team, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.

Davis has been charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. He was advised of the charges against him Friday in court.

The assault allegedly happened on April 2 at the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center in Thornton. Davis was a coach with the Broomfield Thunder softball team.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
