Re: Aug. 25 Diane Carman column.
In the smug, tread-worn, self-righteous, Chicken Little, sky-is-falling world of Diane Carman, anyone who expresses contrary views to the regimented political agenda of the progressive left is either a bigot or a liar. (But, to be inclusive, she should add racist, xenophobic flat-Earther).
That she apparently equivocates tolerance of legitimate, dissenting viewpoints to apathy towards Hitler’s Nazi Germany is reprehensible. Is she blind to Antifas’ antics? (“You need violence to protect non-violence!”) Is there no limit to using the military as a social experimentation laboratory? Does she really believe that consensus validates any scientific position?
Rather than argue merits, the left ridicules and ostracizes, thereby dismissing opposing viewpoints, all the while claiming some capricious “moral high ground.” Is it any wonder that civil discourse is disintegrating before our eyes?
