The Nuggets have hired former Orlando Magic assistant coach David Adelman to the same position, according to an ESPN report.
Adelman is the son of longtime NBA coach Rick Adelman and began his career under his father as a player development coach in 2011 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Adelman worked in Minnesota for five seasons before joining the Magic prior to last season.
Adelman worked with new Nuggets assistant general manager Calvin Booth for three seasons in Minnesota.
Adelman is the second assistant coaching hire for the Nuggets in the past month. They hired longtime assistant Bob Weiss in August to work on head coach Michael Malone’s staff. Adelman and Weiss join Wes Unseld Jr., Micah Nori, Jordi Fernandez and Ryan Bowen.
Former Nuggets assistant Chris Finch left the team earlier in the offseason to take an assistant coaching job with the New Orleans Pelicans.
