Colorado has lost its most dependable offensive lineman for the rest of the season.

Sophomore guard/center , Jr., suffered a torn Achilles tendon early in the first quarter of the Buffaloes’ 41-30 loss at Arizona State on Saturday night.

Head coach gave the official news on Monday and said Lynott will have surgery this week.

“He’ll definitely be out for spring ball,” MacIntyre said. “We’ll get him back in the summer before camp and he’ll be ready to go in camp, I was told, full speed.”

The news on safety was more encouraging. The senior went down in the second half at ASU with an apparent leg injury, and MacIntyre feared the worst that night. On Monday, however, he said there’s a chance Moeller could return this season.

“We’re still holding out hope,” MacIntyre said.
